World Arthritis Day
Arthritis is a broad term that relates to joint pain or disease.
Did you know the term ‘arthritis’ is so broad that it encompasses over 100 different conditions! (https://www.arthritis.org/).
Common symptoms of arthritis can include pain, swelling, visible ‘knobbling’ or bony growths, stiffness, and many more. Symptoms vary from person to person and can come and go with the seasons!
But it’s not all doom and gloom!
Arthritis in many cases benefits greatly from exercise and physiotherapy. Hydrotherapy, one on one Physiotherapy sessions or group-based exercises are all beneficial for arthritis – here at Coastal Physiotherapy we can help with managing your symptoms and help to improve your quality of life!
We asked a few of our staff their favourite exercises and these were their replies!
Lachie: “I love a good bent over row! Fantastic for improving your shoulder and arm strength!”
Marie: “I love a reverse lunge, it’s a great stability exercise and perfect for working on your lower limb control!”
Adam: “I love a bit of Bosu balance – the best way to challenge yourself is pushing your balance, a whole-body exercise and very functional!
